TWS Southfield Plus Owner Savannah Thompkins, would like to share with you her personal story and her experience with The Weave Shop.
I started working as a licensed stylist at TWS Southfield the first day it opened. I was attracted to how pretty it was with the pink walls and bright white floors. I was promoted to assistant lead stylist for about 4 months before I was eventually promoted to lead stylist. I put in a lot of long hours and hard work but it has definitely paid off. I was given the opportunity to take over and own TWS Southfield Plus earlier this year. I was scared and a bit overwhelmed but am very blessed to be doing something that I have always dreamt about. The power of words and what you put out in the universe is an amazing thing. I have always said that I wanted to own my own salon by the time I was 25 yrs old and I am actually doing it! I have a deep passion for hair and love when clients leave my shop looking beautiful.
I see things a lot differently now that I am a shop owner compared to being an employee. Lamarsha Saunderson is my mentor and now I understand her strong work ethic and drive. With the help from her and the support from my family and boyfriend I am where I'm at now.
Being a mother of 2 young children I want to be a role model for them. I want them to be proud of me and show them that they can follow their dreams too. I love working here and one day I would love to open a Weave Shop in Florida. I want to go further; I don't want to stop here!

TWS Chicago Plus Co-Owner Ebony Couch, would like to share with you her personal story and her experience with The Weave Shop.
Hello, my name is Ebony Couch. I became a licensed stylist in 2008; however my fascination with hair extensions did not begin there. As a young African American girl, my hair was short and kinky. It wouldn't grow how I had imagined. I had always dreamed of having long, pretty hair. It was devastating for me to not have my hair styled certain ways because of the texture and length of my hair. Therefore at the early age of 7 years old is when I experienced wearing hair extensions for the first time. I had fallen in love with my pink and white beads on the ends of my long, braided extensions. Hair extensions had transformed me completely as a child and as I grew into woman hood. When I saw the classified ad for The Weave Shop, I knew I had come across a profession where I could transform many other women's lives with hair extensions.
My journey with The Weave Shop has been an exciting and rewarding experience. I had an immediate love for the shop after beginning working as a licensed stylist in 2009 for Michigan location, Antonio Echols. The whole concept of an affordable weave, the color decor and the branding of The Weave Shop I knew and felt would be very successful. My new dream was to be a part of it and wanted to become an owner. So, I quickly expressed my desire and devotion to want to own a shop to Antonio and to see how to get there. Unfortunately, I didn't have funding to start right away, I still wanted to grow with the company and learn as much as I could. I quickly rose to lead stylist and then became manager. In 2010, I was offered an opportunity to manage Latonya's shops in Atlanta. I was ecstatic, my life was changing. Antonio informed me that things were moving/building fast and with hard work, could maybe work for the Corporate Office. I wanted to continue moving up and in 2011; I had a chance to become Field Supervisor. I just loved the position, because I had the opportunity to travel, train & meet the new and upcoming franchisees such as: Camp Creek, Marietta, Macon, Lithonia, Gratiot, Warren and Jersey City. Everyone I had a chance to meet with, were just wonderful people.
My dream has come true! I am currently a partner with Kevin and Lamarsha Saunderson in the first Chicago store! I truly thank them for giving me the opportunity to become partners with them. I am also truly blessed to have met The Saunderson family and Antonio Echols. Thank You! My advice for those interested in becoming a salon owner is to know it takes patience, dedication, commitment and plain old hard work. Also, having a great location, great service and hiring a good team makes a world of a difference. The end results are definitely rewarding!

This place is AWESOME! I got my hair done there and they did an absolutely beautiful job. I have recommended this location to my friends and they love it too. It was clean, the operators, who work on your hair are very receptive to what you like and creative if you have them suggest a style for you in consultation.

Chantal Jones - Southfield Plus, MI Customer

The Weave Shop is simply AMAZING! All the weaves are gorgeous and all of them had me fooled. And they even got Jennifer Williams.
